Definitions

My name is Julie Cooper and I am the Artist that has created the artworks displayed on this website - www.juliecooper.co.uk. These Buyer's Terms (“Terms”) apply to anyone who expresses an interest or proceeds to purchase an artwork via this website.

Buyer (“You”) - a person or entity that goes through the buying process for a work of art listed on the www.juliecooper.co.uk website.

These Terms apply when you purchase or attempt to purchase a work of art via the website. By completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms in addition to our general Terms of Use.

1. Eligibility to Buy

You confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract and, if purchasing on behalf of an organisation, that you have the authority to do so.

2. Artwork Listings & Descriptions

Artwork descriptions, images, pricing and availability are provided by the Artist. The Artist takes all reasonable steps to maintain accuracy and integrity of the listings.

You acknowledge that artworks may vary slightly from images shown due to lighting, screen calibration, or the nature of handmade works. Please contact the Artist if you have any questions about the work.

3. Pricing & Fees

The purchase price of an artwork is set at the time of purchase. Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes, duties, customs charges, or delivery fees unless otherwise stated.

Any additional fees payable by the Buyer will be clearly shown before checkout.

4. Payments, Delivery and Acceptance

Payments are processed securely via Stripe or another approved payment provider.

Once payment has been confirmed, the Artist will pack the artwork securely and ship it to the Buyer using a reputable carrier. The work will be insured during transit. The Buyer must take all reasonable steps to ensure safe receipt of the artwork, and must inspect the artwork upon delivery. The Buyer must confirm receipt and acceptance of the artwork within a reasonable time period, or the artwork will be deemed accepted.

5. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds

Cancellation, return and refund policies are set by the Artist at the point of purchase.

Where returns are accepted:

  • the artwork must be returned in its original condition;
  • return shipping arrangements and costs will be paid by the Buyer;
  • refunds will be processed once the artwork is safely returned and inspected.

6. Taxes & Duties

The Buyer is responsible for any applicable taxes, import duties, customs charges or similar fees arising from the purchase.

7. Title & Copyright

Title to the physical artwork passes to the Buyer once full payment has been made and the artwork has been delivered and accepted, subject to any return rights.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing an artwork does not transfer copyright.

Copyright remains with the artist. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit the artwork without the artist's prior written consent.

8. Buyer Conduct

You agree not to:

  • engage in fraudulent, abusive or deceptive behaviour;
  • misuse the website or interfere with transactions;
  • attempt to circumvent payment fees.

The Artist reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for breaches of these Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Artist shall not be liable for:

  • loss or damage to artworks during transit - artworks will be insured during transit;
  • unavoidable mistakes in artwork descriptions.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the platform or completion of purchases after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
